When I woke it was a crisp 18 degrees here in Slinger. It took me a cup of coffee and numerous layers of clothing before I adjusted to the idea of standing outdoors in the cold for three hours. Not wanting to be a wimp, because I know all dedicated plein air painters would brave the elements. I headed out the door, packed the car, and drove to the location where other stalwart souls were working at their art. I arrived a bit later than the others, but covered a lot of ground on this 20 x 30 canvas, before it was time to critique.

Prior to leaving for Mexico I set up this still life in the living room. Using my beautiful orchids that bloomed, it was the only testament that there would be spring soon. I know it is a long shot, but I sent the entry anyway hoping I would get in the show, so cross fingers everyone.
